Rear foglights driving thread

Rear FOGS are F%%ing irrating. I usually flash a few times, but i dont think they know. I also dont think everyone knows that they turned it on ???

Sometimes i go infront of them. then turn my fogs on and off a few times, hoping they get the hint.

I dont have an issue with front fogs, they dont really irritate me. People with aftermarket headlights that arent aligned are the worst, like brights but not. My car's fogs are on permanently, but very lower power, just for show. when you do turn them on its much brighter, or turn sharply it goes on.

The only time I use my rear fog lights is when someone is tailgating or has their brights on.

I think some cars make it a bit to easy to switch on the rear ones by accident. In my Pug I have to turn the switch twice to turn on the rear fog lights but in my Astra rear and front have their own buttons.

In my polo you have to pull out once for front fogs, pull out to second point for rear fogs. Some cars that doesnt have front fogs still have rear fogs as its law in some countries. I honestly cant see why its used other than in heavy fog, or to irrate the Ahole behind you for using brights lol. It doesnt even look cool.

Yep, Mercs are like that two. Maybe the folks just keep pulling.

This is a bit more tricky to get wrong (and yet some people will)

The cars these days are so advanced the people driving them dont even know how to operate them let alone understand what fog lights are....

The new cars you cant put them on independently - the switch turns the fronts on then the back.

i use both when bad weather fog or raining so they can see me. Most people drive around with the fronts on and dont even know it (even though there is a light on in the instrument panel telling you you have your fogs on) this is how stupid people are

When I had me Tuna I had some deterrents for people with their rare fog lights on.
2- bigass light bars

Have this on all my Citroën cars I owned. Much more tricky to make a mistake. In my BMW, front and back have their own buttons next to each other.

My wife's car has front fogs but no rear ones.

Gentleman you will call me a lier on this one but it’s true.

Came home from a company function in Cape Town CBD and hour ago and near Panorama there is a Corolla with rear fog lights bright as the sun a good kilometre away in the middle lane.

So I purposely change to the middle and approach and at about 100m off I turn my brights on fully and approach at pace and then plan to pass on the right.

**** me sideways the fog lights actually go off just as I’m about to overtake.

To their credit it was ever so slightly foggy earlier past Canal Walk. Nothing in the road actually to limit visibility but fair enough it was there so I can only imagine this person actually put them on for the purpose they were made and then remembered when I flashed them.

Pics or it didn't happen. I can't believe that any of these idiots would ever see the error of their ways.

So true

On my way to work this morning I unluckily ended up behind this boks* in his Clio 4 with his rear fog light on in a perfectly clear morning. Low behold, his rear window wiper is also wiping away at programmed intervals.

I mean, how on earth do you not notice that?
Only reasonable explanation is that he purposely turned all stalks till the fog light indicator light on the dashboard illuminated and then did not know how to turn the wiper off.
For non-Renault drivers not knowing how easy it really is: Fogs front = left stalk rotate forward, Rear fogs = left stalk rotate backwards & Rear wiper = right stalk rotate forwards.

To make matters worse, the driver was a fancy dressed "white-collar" male, mid twenties...
Not sure where the world economy is heading with this youth...

To be honest most young people driving these small hatches seem to be morons, regardless of demographic.
