Rear foglights driving thread

Might be illegal, but I bet it's nowhere near as deadly as the motorists that cannot for the love of anything stop at a stop street.

The roads I use don't have street lights so the fog lights makes a big difference on my Accent for lighting close to the vehicle. I don't see the point in switching them on and off the whole time if they are needed most of the time anyways. Didn't know it was illegal to leave front fogs on as it doesn't cause any danger to anyone.

vehicle is lit, except in conditions of poor visibility caused by snow, fog, mist, dust or smoke. "

It's made for when you're in the fog. Front fog lights of Hilux and Ranger are annoying as hell when you drive a low car head on with them.

For the rear ones, it's not so much that it's confusing with the brake lights for me, but it's extremely tiring to follow somebody who has it on. I usually speed to pass them and leave them behind, especially on long trips.

This is an Accent. The lights can't even blind a fly. It helps when no street lights are fitted to the roads or driving off road (for example in the informal settlement)

And again that really shouldn't be a problem, cause they a)shouldn't have a valid driving license, and b) shouldn't be travelling so far into your boot.

The reason it is illegal is because foglights are so bright that they make the brake lights a lot less visible. They are therefore dangerous if used in the wrong conditions.

Agree. It doesn't bother me. Will switch it off (front ones, don't use rear ones) if I remember simply because there is a rule that requires it.

I will continue to use it in badly lit areas as it really helps and is better than switching on brights that is a danger for those around you.

Dude, [-]most[/-] almost all of them don't give a fark. In the bad driving thread you see posters complaining about how they approach a driver and they get a sweet F A R K off or the middle finger.

All this is good for is post counts, not to make anyone feel ashamed.

Similar issue. If proper fog lights and not running lights, they can blind or distract oncoming traffic. It would be the same as driving with your brights on into oncoming traffic.

This is also basic knowledge for the drivers license, but seeing how the majority drive in SA (utterly clueless to surroundings) it doesn't really surprise me.

Exaggeration much. I've never been blinded by fog lights. There is a huge difference between fogs and brights. Anyways, you are a bunch with sensitive eyes. I get it.
