Hi
Has anyone bought anything from rebeltech.co.za?
Are they legit?
Wanna buy some stuff from there :)

+1 on rebeltech, dealt with them more times than I can count, never had a problem. Also there is a Rebeltech rep here on the forums.

Thought it was a bit weird that they don't take credit cards, but did an online payment and my order was ready the next day. They're legit.

RT is the shizz, I've been buying from them for a year with no major hassles. Great service

+1 Have bought from RebelTech over the past two years and pretty easy purchasing experience

I also bought from RebelTech a few times and I'm quite impressed with their service. Their prices are amazing to say the least, especially if they have something on a special. Like I got my Asus HD6970 DirectCU II for R3200, when it was retailing for around R4500.

Credit card companies are quite fussy about whom they deal with in case of problems. Often it's just a case of not being a secure website (https).

I bought my current rig (excluding the screen) from them. They are about 3 minutes away from me.

They suffer the usual online shop problem where they only have stock if you pay and wait.

only thing i dont like is that they use fastway couriers, they pretty useless, jhb to cpt ain't overnight , its 4.32pm and i don't have my cpu , its been sent on monday .

fastway says its with the driver, which they cant get hold off :(

my takeallot order was done yesterday from jhb, had it 11am this morning, with courier it.

They checked stock before I paid....?
No, they just kept me waiting expecting them to get stock. Nobody ever called & months later it's as if I never contacted them.
I got the impression that they were just waiting to see what people ordered before doing anything like getting stock.

The best way to do it when ordering online is to find what you want, phone them and say im interested in x product do the suppliers have stock, can u please find out for me and i will place an order, they phone you back or email you saying that they have confirmed stock availability and to go ahead and pay, you deposit cash and wait 3/4 days for it to be delivered. It only becomes a problem if the courier stuffs up, or the online store sales person lied about the availability which is to their own detriment, ive pulled deposited cash many times in the past because a availability went from available 3/4 days to 3-4 weeks time.

It's the norm and quite acceptable IMO. Why sit on stock (along with the risk and associated storage and insurance costs) which may not be sold? I prefer the approach which Rebeltech and just about every other online hardware seller I've used follow, of confirming stock with the suppliers whereafter I will place the order and make payment.
