I am running Openweb account on Billion 7200N, my main PC is connected via Lan and Netbook via Wifi. I am using openbrowse VPN to browse international website on both machine and I never switch off the netbook (I just hibernate it).

Recently I need to reboot my MODEM on a daily basis as I will not be able to connect to internet during browsing. The DSL and Internet LED indicating I am still connected but both Nebtook and PC won't be able to open any website (close and re-open openrouter won't work as it won't connect to VPN).

What could the problem be?

I used to have that problem with my Telkom router... also had to restart daily, sometimes even more often. Try saving all your settings, then doing a hard-reset to default settings and then reloading the settings.

I tried that already. Not sure if our Billion tech rep here on the forum can help or not.

also check that the router isn't overheating , often causes it to freeze -- and check that you're running the latest firmware...

Hi cyberarmy,

A few questions

Can you post you’re F/W version (On routers status page "Software version")?
Is the Lan and Wireless LED's burning on the 7300N when this occurs?
When you are unable to browse after xx amount of time, can you ping the following:

2.Router Lan ip from Notebook or PC (Wireless/Lan)
3.On the routers status page, Do you have a WAN ip and DNS server ip? If yes, try to ping DNS and any Local or internasional site.

FW:1.06d
Burning LED means? Don't think it is very intense when the Modem decided to freeze.

Can't ping the router IP as I tried to login to my router and check, but told me can't open page.

And the WAN IP or DNS ping, I am using Openbrowse and my software will not connect to the Openweb VPN when the problem occurs, told me proxy not available or something. But straigh after reset I can connect.

Lets first start with a F/W upgrade, I have sent you a PM requesting you contact details so that we can send you the latest F/W version.

Firmware upgrade unsuccessful.

Unzipped the f/w provided and use the upgrade function in the web interface. Tried both factory default or current setting and pressed upgrade, browser will display can not open webpage after a while (is this normal?).

After a while I login to browser again, still same 1.06d not 1.06f and I tried power down Router and up again, same f/w version. PDF manual is useless.

It could be that the F/W version got corrupted over E-mail link. Will resend the F/W, we have tested the upgrade here, all works 100%.
