Received my salary "increase" letter

Well I received my increase and bonus letter today as well. Time to jump.

What industry are you guys in that you get more than 20k annual increases?
Its all relative - for someone in the top income tax bracket thats a sub 3% increase - meaning said person is poorer than he/she was the year before (in purchasing power terms).

If you're not at least getting inflation then it's time to get out... I moved because I received an increase not much more than CPI. Funnily enough company targets for growth are well over 20% but if they do an actual of 1% less than that it's a "bad" year and you should be happy with inflation... Then the targets for next year are again 20%+

I got about 20% increase this year, which is better than last years 6% :)
Though I'm not complaining about the 6...

I'll give myself a CPI related increase this year April.

Last year we received 5.5% which is less than CPI. I just resigned and will get slightly more salary and same perks at my new job, but with better working hours.
I'm not expecting an increase at the new job till next year.

Last year 0%
This year I expect 0%, reason being is they're already bitching and moaning about expenditure on R&D.
Since as mentioned elsewhere, this is just a temporary I am not going to complain at all. I have now got a means to earn far more money anyway, and besides that, I cut my cellphone contract and DSTV which now nets me an effective increase of R1300 per month, not counting how much extra I bring home. So ja, who cares!

The company I work at, I wont take the Liberty to mention the name, thae avg incraese was 2%, top performers got 3%. Most got 0%.

R500 odd rand? Ouch. That really is a joke (unless Ninja'd is earning a really crappy salary).

I have personally experienced increases like that. Needless to say I no longer work for those companies and one of them has since gone under. Wonder why
