I want to move my controller software from a Windows pc to a VM, preferably Linux, busy downloading this ovf template https://www.jpaul.me/2018/07/my-ubiquiti-unifi-appliance-3-0-now-even-more-super/

Anyone used that specific one before?
Any other recommendations for building one in in your own VMware environment?
Just from playing around last night it seems to be a mission to just install Unifi on a Ubuntu server, and updating it also a bit of a mission, but guess that comes with Linux based installations.
Not going the Cloud key route so please don't recommend that :)

Run on a Pi,along with your other Network services :)

I actually was thinking of that, but then I saw I could almost buy the Cloud Key for the price of the Pie I would want to buy.

Have a esxi host just ideling most of the time so thought I'll just build one on that rather

See if you can find a Rancher image to run in a VM. Then use that to manager your docker containers.

Fair, there's just a wide array of other stuff that can also be run on Pi's so if you ever change your setup/mind/get stuff to install, the versatility at same cost outweighs the singular cloud key
So it's a no brainer in that regard

Anyone upgrade to the new version 5.10.24-11676-1 yet?

Is it stable?

I run mine on a pi. (my home one.) production sits on a vps
