Howzit guys,

So I was involved in accident last week. ( lady shot a red robot) and my car is a write off.

The insurance is being sorted out at the moment.

So, Help me find a new car between 80K and 90k!

Also, general advice in terms of mileage on a vehicle, how to check if it was involved in accident, things to look out for etc will be highly appreciated. I'd also like to know what interest I can expect to pay? My credit score is fantastic (880) with minimal debt...

I'm a noob as I've never really "bought a car" in a sense as I was fortunate to have family who gave me hand me downs below market prices.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate it :)

Honda Brio
Older Polo
Suzuki Swift (second hand of course)
Ford Fiesta (older pre facelift 2009 - 12)
Toyota Aygo
Citroen C1
Peugeot 207
Peugeot 107
Nissan Micra
Ford Ikon
Tata Indica Vista (lol, jokes)
Hyundai i10
Possibly an older i120
Kia Picanto
Geely (please don't)
Suzuki Alto

here's a couple options, but to be honest I am not sure what you are looking for more specifically, is it low mileage cheap run around? Engine needs? I'm just going for newish second hand city runabouts :)

In terms of interest rate it all depends on prime, the financial provider and such, but I reckon around 11%

You want to keep the mileage as low as possible and look with something with a still valid warranty or get an extended one. Dekra would be able to tell you if it's been in a smash, or any reputable private mechanic you could take with you.

Hope this helps a bit :)

Some specificity might help us to help you.

Sedan or hatchback?
Big car or small?
What will you be using the car for and how many people do you plan to squeeze into it?
auto or manual?
what is the oldest year model you are willing to buy?
mileage range?

Ideally I want to get something above the entry level cars, so a second hand i20, Fiesta (post face lift), or something similar. Not sure if that's possible though :(

Hatch, Manual, year 2010. Mileage goes hand in hand with year, If I can get a low mileage in a 2009 model, I'll consider it.

terms of car, want something more than your entry level cars like Picanto, i10 etc.

@ChrisThomas - is expecting to get an i20 or Rio at the 90K mark reasonable?

I ask because most cars you've posted are ~R100k. I don't want to go over 90K....

There are only 2 on Autotrader (rio) for up to 99,000 - I think within the 90k mark you are looking at higher mileage which can be a risky buy...

however there is no fault in calling up the dealers and seeing what discount they are willing to give you?

In this case I'd say an older gen(mk7) fiesta. great cars for good money

I really think for the type of car you want vs the price you are likely to buy a lemon unless you are extremely careful.

Jazz is an awesome car! Really nice to drive but isn't totally stable at 120kph when there's wind
