Recommend a graphics card for me please

I am upgrading my pc to a Intel Core Duo 2 and a Intel motherboard. Can somone suggest a good PCI-E graphics card?
I am looking at spending aroud R1000.

I can even play STALKER with my card on low detail. As far as I know it's one of the most graphics intensive games.

Rather save your money for another month or tow and get an 8600GT or one of the X1950 cards. You'll regret buying for R1K trust me on that... I once owned an MX440

I'd go for the 8600GT or the 7600GT if you really have to stick to R1000.

I bought the 7600GT last year this time.. Gainward 7600GT for R2300 at the time, still a freaking awesome card

but maybe look at the 8600's now?

I recommend getting a 8500gt if u want a card thats below R1000

I'd recommend the ATI 2600 Pro over the 8500GT, should be in the same price range, but we're still waiting for them here.

But if you were going to go for the 8500GT it would definitely be worth the money getting a 8600GT instead.
