Howzit! Have a client with 2x e-commerce (WooCommerce) websites. Quite a few plugins on each and decent traffic (90% in SA). They are currently on a WPEngine Dedicated Server ($460ish) but didn't realize how much they were paying. Any recommendations on more affordable solutions (in the $100 - $150 range)? Perhaps local since that's where the traffic is from?

Does the client require management similar to what a fully managed dedi from wp engine includes or can they manage it themselves or have some one else manage it?

What volume of traffic are they pushing per month?

Defining "decent traffic" would be helpful. Eg, 90% of the local traffic for selling antique pianos is very different to 90% of the local traffic for selling food. How many simultaneous visitors at peak?

$460 per month?

$460 per month?

Lol yep (R8.7k per month)...

Looking at GA now, they only doing about 5k visitors per month across 2 e-commerce websites. Have a few thousand email subscribers so sometimes surges a little when there are sales. Emails are also elsewhere (Google Workspace/Microsoft 365).

Looking for something fairly easy to manage, maybe cPanel based or familiar with Cloudways. Looking at an affordable solution but don't want to compromise on site slowing down. As previously mentioned only really the SA traffic matters (as this is where they sell).

Have a look at https://www.web-telecoms.co.za - we can also create a custom package based on your specific requirements. Our servers are all in South Africa, so your SA visitors should have fast access to these sites.

For the amount of money you were paying, you can probably even get a managed dedicated server and still have some spare change at the end of the month.

I'll add it to the list ;)

Use the RunCloud control panel and hook up a 3+ core Vultr High Frequency server in Joburg. Nothing will scream through WP and WooCommerce like Vultr HF.

Managed dedicated server. Managed because free offsite backups and server admin on standby 24/7, 365 days

If you want a custom setup with an ssd etc it can be done also.

We have AMD Milan 7763 Powered VPS servers coming online this week if you are interested and aren’t in a rush, and we have just doubled the resources on most of our existing VPS servers.

Hi Op, if you're looking for a dedi option we can offer something for $115/pm with cPanel hosted in SA that should meet your client's needs.
Plans are listed here but feel free to PM if you need any help.

Thanks, I run another website through Cloudways Vultr, that was one of my first options, but I see they don't have JHB server on there. I'll take a look at RunCloud.
