Red Hot Chilli peppers coming to SA

You seem to be the master of assumptions ghoti...

Anyway, if you like them, cool. Doesn't mean everyone must. If I offended you by saying I felt they are disturbed, apologies, it's only my opinion and is in no way a reflection of what I think of you. In fact, I don't think anything of you, I don't know you ;)

Have a happy day now :p

Relax, just teasing you cause you remind me of the Steve Hofmeyr crowd.

I had no issues at the show.

Organised a shuttle to get us there, got into GC quick enough. Took 5 mins to get a drink in GC. Once we left it took us 10 minutes to get back onto the highway.

Die Antwoord were terribad, the only enjoyable part of their show was when Flea came out to jam with them.

As for RHCP, best show I have ever been to, and I've been to quite a few. I could not have chosen their playlist better, except maybe throwing in Scar Tissue and Around the World.

Can anyone tell me the JHB playlist or just remembers some of the songs they played? Going to CPT concert tonight and trying to dedice what to listen to beforehand :-)

It is listed earlier in this thread.

Taking the MyCiti Bus from the Civic Centre. If you search the forum there have also been suggestions for previous concerts for parking in the parkades on Strand Street (Picbel Parkade was mentioned specifically), and then taking the fan walk from there. Parking costs about R15 it seems.

Man I think they're gonna have lots of trouble after tonight's show in Cape Town
The sound was terrible, or at least in certain places (upper tier). People left halfway through the show, you just couldn't hear jack between all the bass - sounded like a taxi sound-off.

The concert was awesome. The sound wasn't as good as some of the other gigs I've been to at the stadium, but it wasn't terrible. We had one helluva good time and the RHCP put on a brilliant show. I was in my element!

Everything went very smoothly right from the security and checks at the entrance, to queuing for booze, to the crowds leaving the stadium at the end. Nowhere near as disorganised as Joburg was supposed to have been.

Can't wait for Metallica!

middle tier and as mentioned some sound issues - little too much funky bass - but well worth it

Awful sound in the back, amazing sound in the front. Checked both. Its generally the case though with this stadium. The sound has too far to travel and there is a lot of echo of the bass which distorts things further back. Great concert, they were amazing

Agree with you here, think it is the case with this stadium. New philosophy : stop buying cheap tickets like I always do and pay up to get something closer to the front.

I'm weighing in a bit late here, but was slightly disappointed with the Joburg show. The performance was a bit sloppy at times - certainly not what I would've expected from a world-class band like RHCP. I suspect Kiedis was the main culprit, occasionally being off key and/or out of time.

That sucks man. They gave Cape Town 110%. I have been to every big international act in the last few years and RHCPs performance was stellar and Im not even their biggest fan.
