Hi guys, a while back I went to Ireland and after MTN promised me that all was in order and that the moment I set foot in Ireland, my cellphone will roam, I was ready to go. Big surprise, my MTN cellphone didn't roam! Hahaha - I guess that wasn't a surprise. But anyway, I went to a Vodafone store in Dublin - they were rude and disgusting. And secondly, a prepaid Vodafone sim cost me R175.00 (and they didn't accept credit card - had to go draw some euros at the atm), where it would've cost me R1 here in good old SA. Secondly, Vodafone couldn't offer me BIS on prepaid - it simply doesn't exist!!!, I had to have a contract, where good old Vodacom would've offered it to me for about R60. I can't remember the exact amount, but no matter what bundle you use, or what you do, 1MB of data in Ireland was something rediculous like R15. And the sim wouldn't activate immediately, I had to phone their rude callcenter (with their horrible Irish accents!).
Hope and pray that Vodacom will remain Vodacom, 'cause the grass isn't so lusciously green on the other side!
