Hi! I'm trying to buy a desktop for attempting game development and other projects. Buying a new one is so expensive so I'm thinking of buying a refurbished one.

What is your standing point on refurbished desktops? And if you recommend it, what companies are good and trustworthy? Also what do you think of the sites GoGadgets SA and Super Communications to buy refurbished products?

If you post here with your requirements, be descriptive as possible , the folk will help as well.

I'm still looking through everything and will decide from that point on forward, but thank you y'all. I will probably bother you again when I'm stuck.

You would find parts as well as full desktops from carbonite..

Whether you buy parts or a full desktop from carbonite, it's the cheaper route..
Although you probably benefit from a 1 year warranty with the reputable stores, for that extra piece of mind. Just stay away from the one that starts with an E. Not that I think they do refurbished.

So neither has experience in buying with GoGadgets or Super Communications?

Because I'm kind of scared to build my own pc. 'Cause what if it doesn't workand I just wasted money

If I were to do this where would I buy the parts from...carbonite??
Yes just please be careful of scammers best to meet in person pay cash et

It's pretty easy myself as a 13 year old early 2000s did it with zero tutorials now youtube is full. It's half the fun and you cna easily troubleshoot etc.

Otherwise just buy a full system off carbonite

I normally buy my kids my old work desktops when available or laptops every 4 years when warranty is over.

They use desktop with GT1030 graphics for basic gaming even Fortnite.

Just get 16gb of ram (crucial is best)
nvme otherwise ssd drive
even onboard can play a few things.

HP or Dell. Probs pay R1500-2000 I am guessing.

Not heard of either of those two.

As others have said, pot on Carbonite as a ‘wanted’ ad specifying what you’re looking for.

Definitely check the persons rating (make sure they have 100 perfect positive feedback) and preferably buy from someone with a reseller tag for a bit more peace of mind.

Personally, I wouldn’t buy components on Carbonite to build your own - too much risk of incompatibility- rather buy a complete system (excluding monitor, kb, mouse since those are cheap and easy to source and the compatibility risk is minuscule).

You need to ensure that you spec it correctly for what you want to do with it.
