Registering a .com - Afrihost with hosting VS Afrihost without hosting

So I was thinking of grabbing a .com for my site, and figured "Let me see if I can get it done through Afrihost. After all, my .co.za is through them."

So I took a look at their options and was surprised to discover that if I get them to provide hosting, it only costs me R97, while if I just go for domain registration it's R197? What am I missing here?

Also, Godaddy says the URL I want is available, while Afrihost says it isn't.

Any suggestions on what I should do if all I want is the domain name?

If you get a domain with hosting then you have to pay the monthly hosting fee as well.

If you are just looking for the domain name then you do not need hosting, if I were you I would just forward the domain to you .co.za address.

Thanks. I just checked and Godaddy have it listed as available because they're basically auctioning it on behalf of the camper. I'll wait till next year when it frees up again.
