[RELEASE] DStv Now KODI Add-on

Because DStv bought a monopoly to broadcast locally - obviously the money that was paid helps to the Great Rugby Lords support the free streaming in other countries...

Oh, really, what is DSTV doing to develop Rugby in the regions it bought rights too - not much that I have seen.

So if the Rugby Lords advertise Rugby, you are saying that DSTV are subsidising that advertising. Which in a very, very broad view they are.

What the Rugby Lords are doing is trying to expose Rugby to markets where Rugby has no noticable traction. The Rugby Lords are performing their duty, which is part of their allotted duty, with the Rugby Pass platform. Which is why they sell rights to the DSTV's of the world. Is it not.

If you replace "dstv" with countries where there already broadcast rights in place, then yes you are correct.

RugbyPass specifically said they will stream the RWC2023 for free in countries where such agreements are not in place. Henceforth that map.

Agreed. That's why I said the money that DStv paid helps...

matt seems to be interested in doing a rugbypass.tv addon:
That + (VPN / smart dns) = free RWC?

Reports, seem to indicate that it may be feasable, tho the VPN location would probably have to be carefully selected, as I have doudts that many of the areas where it will be available fror free have very good internet.

Also the number of VPN'able locations may be limited.

Isn't the Netherlands on the list? Sure they have good internet.

Not had a good look at the map yet, to determine which locations, are likely to have VPN exit nodes. Nor have I checked which VPN's are likely to have most exit nides that would be usable for this endeavour.

I was also wondering...

Are the Netherlands and the Netherlands Antilles the same?

ChatGPT
No, the Netherlands and the Netherlands Antilles are not the same. The Netherlands (also known as Holland) is a country located in Western Europe, while the Netherlands Antilles was a group of islands in the Caribbean that was dissolved in 2010. The Netherlands Antilles consisted of two island groups: the Leeward Islands (Bonaire, Saba, and Sint Eustatius) and the Windward Islands (Curaçao and Sint Maarten).

My guess would be Greece Cyprus, Turkey, Albania, but then not sure you would get English commentary in those areas.

What is the link to this add-on?

Loaded the Rugbypass TV addon (Slyguy) to Kodi on both my Xiaomi Android Box & Firestick. Using Greece location on my VPN with Windscribe. App works and shows the upcoming games. A big problem I have is that the pre loaded content I tested/watched buffers badly. Does this on both the Android box as well as the Firestick. If this is going to happen on live stream games then this won't be an option to watch the RWC. :cautious::(
The app on my android phone though does not buffer. Just for the record,I have Vuma fibre with 100MB upload/download. Any suggestions as to fix the buffering problem?

I havent tested my strategy yet, but my plan is to only route the api endpoint over my vpn and let the streams go directly out. Not sure yet if this will work...

Plan1 is to get the streams listed, which I think means you first need to log in while on the vpn, that uses the api endpoint, hosted on aws eu-central-1 for me going by the dns response.

Streaming the old games directly on SA internet was buttery smooth for me, so I suspect your vpn is causing the buffering.
