[RELEASE] DStv Now KODI Add-on

That is what was so funny though, had to go here to check possible acronyms. I mean I refer to it as catch-up.
That being the reason for my silly post above.

Kodi by default only produce basic logging, so you have to enable more detail by turning on debug logging (ctrl-shift-d) as mentioned here and obviously do it before the error is occurring to capture more useful info for the author of the addon.

I was confident I had debug logging enabled but alas, I refreshed my whole Kodi installation after the previous DSTV streaming issues and forgot to re-enable it.

Yeah keep it turned on especially for the next boks game on the 20th, so that one of use can at least provide a proper log should an error surface again.

I get the following 403 error, epg/v6/getEpgChannel

Make sure yor entitled to this content and you IP address is allowed ( not geo-blocked)""

Mine working fine for me at the moment. Think I had it once since the latest update but just logged out and back in and it worked fine.

Does OD still work?
Anyone got a photo of the error?
It should show a trackback telling me where it occurred.

These pics were taken of the error that happened during the Bokke vs Italy game. I hope these will still be helpful. Sorry for the late post, been out of action for a week.

I already sent that to @js9241698. The info on the screen is the same as in the kodi basic log. Hopefully it was enough for him to work with, however he actually needs full logs to troubleshoot future problems. Only way to give that to him is to switch kodi to full debug (ctrl-shift-d) BEFORE starting the stream that causes an error.

On a lighter side. did any of you guys and gals know that if you use a keyboard, or bt keyboard like on my pi, you can press the number of the channel while streaming and it changes to that channel? eg. 201, 305, 101 and so on.

That funtionality is part of iptv simple client. Also works when using said plugin with only m3u playlists for instance - typically when subscribing to an iptv service. Won't work solely when using just the dstv now addon.
But lots of people here is probably using the addon in conjunction with Matt's iptv merge addon, which uses iptv simple client and would then give that functionality.

I discovered it by accident when the dog stepped on the remote LOL

Thanks @enerdude. I use Kodi on a Firestick. Any idea how to do full debug on there?

@js9241698, I downloaded your latest update for DSTV Now addon v 0.10.7 and noticed that the device name setting is no longer in the Settings section. Is this by design?

It is not counted as a device. You can have maximum devices activated and then also use this Kodi version of Dstv Now.

At the moment Kodi still shows as a device on my side with v0.10.7 ? ....

Should I clear stuff ? ...what ?

That is because it was added with earlier versions. Just remove the device via die IOS / android app and when you start the kodi addon it wont add any device again.

From the main menu, go to settings > SYSTEM > Logging (make sure your Settings level is Standard or Expert if you don’t see this) > Turn on the “Enable Debug Logging” option.

@hotdog
You sure your on latest version (0.10.7)
The line numbers in your error don't seem to match up....

Hi guys, I have been following this thread for a while now and it has always been very helpful. Thanks for that.

I do however now have an issue I can't seem to sort out. I loaded the new version this morning but now I keep on getting an error saying:

DSTV Now - Error
epg/v6/getEpgChannel returned error: 403
Make sure your entitled to thus content and your IP address is allowed (not geo-blocked)

Once you click OK a next error pops up:

Playback failed
One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message.

I have already logged out of DSTV Now several times, I have uninstalled and reinstalled version 0.10.7 three times already and I have restarted my device a few times already as well.

Any other ideas on what I can try to have these errors fixed?

Regards
