[RELEASE] DStv Now KODI Add-on

Hi guys, I have been following this thread for a while now and it has always been very helpful. Thanks for that.

I do however now have an issue I can't seem to sort out. I loaded the new version this morning but now I keep on getting an error saying:

DSTV Now - Error
epg/v6/getEpgChannel returned error: 403
Make sure your entitled to thus content and your IP address is allowed (not geo-blocked)

Once you click OK a next error pops up:

Playback failed
One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message.

I have already logged out of DSTV Now several times, I have uninstalled and reinstalled version 0.10.7 three times already and I have restarted my device a few times already as well.

Any other ideas on what I can try to have these errors fixed?

Regards
Try going to settings>pvr and then clear data under guide. Restart kodi and wait for epg to load.

Thanks WiseCrack I just tried your suggestion but unfortunately that is not sorting out the issue

Same message here. Also logged out and in and cleared the data.

Getting that error now

So after having given up, it started working now again. Is it possible that this is still linked to the Rugby? All rugby for the day is done and suddenly it works again?

Mines working now.

I was running an older version, so I updated to the latest and got the same error on my pi. I then installed the IPTV addon( for the epg) battled a bit with it, went back to the dstv and it worked! :)
Don't know if that fixed it...

The reason is not what matters. What matters is that you enable debugging like I mentioned above in order for the addon author to determine the reason.

 It certainly gave some clues. my logs are from the old version( thats why I updated first.)

I just went to the other pi, one that I did no changes on whatsoever, and it is working now .

Its no use trying to figure out the issue yourself. Sometimes it can be capacity issues when everyone is watching etc etc. The only way to troubleshoot is to enable the debugging log before the error occurs so that it can be logged. The addon author can then analyze the logs and add retries to the api calls for instance

Thanks Enerdude, what you are saying makes sense.

After my errors sorted itself out yesterday afternoon, it reappeared this morning.

Interestingly enough this time around the error is experienced on everything but the rugby.

I did enable the error logging as can be seen from the screenshot attached but when I go to the log location as per the screenshot, there are no files to be found.

It is there but on android the .kodi folder is hidden. You need to enable hidden files. Depends on what file manager you use. Inside kodi you need to go to settings --> Media --> General --> Show hidden files and directories.

Also, remember not to post your log in this thread, rather pm it to @js9241698

I am also experiencing this. All channels give 403 replies with that that error except for Supersport 1 where the rugby is showing. I also checked the android app and it does NOT have the same problem.

@js9241698, I will pm you my logs

Had 10.6 on and got that same error before the game. Loaded 10.7 and now happily watching the boks game
