[RELEASE] DStv Now KODI Add-on

Hi All
I have recently installed the dstv apk on Kodi but am receiving a playback error whenever I try and watch any channel. I have a VPN (am in uk) but the playback seems to always be an issue with kodi.
Have I done the install right? What else can I do? Thanks
I just used a VPN and first forced stop both Kodi and the official Dstv app before reopening them after VPN connection. VPN connected to Johannesburg worked in both Kodi and the official crap app.

Repeated all with a random US server and Kodi Dstv state my IP is not allowed and the official piece of crap just had a spinning circle.

There's not much you can do wrong with the install since the very first post include links to very clear and simple install instructions.

Quick "Thank You" to @I.am.Sam for alerting me to this thread.

Testing via Kodi (64 bit) on my PC and it works brilliantly (although I find Kodi itself to be rather laggy).

I will test it on Chromecast in the next couple of days.

Do I read correctly that the monopoly company that has reduced the value we get from their product may be shutting this down soon?

No lag on Kodi my side? ... could it be PC spec?

Must be an issue with your PC cuz I have the worst PC out of everybody on this forum and Kodi 19.4 (x64) runs like a dream.

Can I take it, that, that means, you think it has a certain amount of merit, and is worth trying?

I will put it on my list of things to look at.
I honestly don't know if it will work or not. But there are 2 options you have.

Option1: Test the kodi version of EPG
Option2: Use the IPTV project version of the EPG on https://github.com/iptv-org/epg

There are minor differences between the 2 options. I don't know if those differences will break it or not on Tivimate and OTT Navigator, both of which I have 0% experience with.

Thanks, that may be useful - will bookmark.

I used the first version of the EPG with Tivimate and it work flawlessly. I just had to add it manually to each channel. It even gives a nice channel icon. This was back in 2019 tho, I see no reason why it should not work, all TiviMate requires is an URL for the xml file. I saved it on Dropbox and pointed TiviMate there. Easier solutions might exist
