Hi Everybody

I am looking to maybe move down to Cape Town but I have the following concerns

1. Salaries for Senior IT Systems & Network Administrator?
2. Rent for Townhouse with garden?
3. Traffic?
4. How many months does it rain ? And how many months does the wind blow

Where are you coming from? What are you earning now? How much is your rent now?

1) Comparable to Joburg, but with higher living expenses.
2) Depends where, but probably double what you're paying now. I'm not joking.
3) Ask for Flexi Time. 8-4 or 9-5 is a complete nightmare for traffic.
4) In winter it rains 1 day every week and a half I guess. The wind depends largely on where you stay. Southern suburbs are sheltered by the mountain. Blouberg and that whole coast line is windy all the time. It's miserable. The area around Woodstock & Walmer estate is also very windy.

2. In a safe area, 20k up. Flat will be up to 19k.

1. 35k+ at a decent company.
2. 8k on the outskirts, much more closer to town.
3. Never work in CBD or anywhere close!! Unless they are paying you a silly amount, traffic is insane!
4. We have a water crisis it hardly ever rains. Wind is bit rough on the west coast, not so much in the northern suburbs where I stay.
