Hi there

We've been using Win2k3 with the DynDNS updater application to provide us with access to a remote site.

However, the DynDNS applet is not quite chommy-chommy with win2k3, and sometimes the IP won't get updated in the DynDNS database.

Is there a hardware solution which will provide us with VPN access, firewall, and also allow dyndns updates?

If you can also control how much bandwidth per day can be used, then that will also be a definite plus.

Cheapest option will probably be something like a Billion 7402G router. Does dyndns (to many differing providers), supports up to 15 IPSec and/or PPTP tunnels (both LAN2LAN & Remote Access), is a NAT firewall and provides basic traffic rate management (Kbps, not MB transfered). I think you can pick one up for ~ R1300.

Possibly not a commercial solution, but my LinkSys WRT54GL router w/ DD-WRT does most of the above (traffic rate management I'm not sure of) - cost me about R600 in total.
