What is the best way to do this?
All the computers(300+) have windows xp installed.

You should have already had something by the time you reached 300!
Are all the computers used for the same purpose? How is the network segmented? You might want to look into something like DeepFreeze

On a Computer running Server 2003, apply a Group Policy via active directory with the msi/installation file and deploy it.

On that note get someone with an mcse qualifiction to assist you.

I guess you might have to look into ZenWorks, im not sure about security reasons though, but I am assuming that the computers all have the same purpose, hence you would want to install the software possibly at the same time (so vnc might not be an option). About deepFreeze, well im not sure how good your knowledge on batch scripting is, but it is another option.

WPKG is an automated software deployment, upgrade and removal program for Windows.

It can be used to push/pull software packages, such as Service Packs, hotfixes, or program installations from a central server (for example, Samba or Active Directory) to a number of workstations.

It can run as a service to install software in the background (silent install), without user interaction.

It can install MSI, InstallShield, PackagefortheWeb, Inno Setup, Nullsoft, other software installers or .exe packages, .bat and .cmd scripts and similar: no more repackaging to perform software installation.

WPKG is open source software.

wow thanx guys.

I still need to read through everything but I think I am bound to find a solution that will work perfectly for my environment from the links provided.
