The IT guy and i are having some trouble removing a public folder database from our old exchnage that crushed. Everything from our old exchange was pulled into the new exchange(all this was done by the previous IT guys so we trying to sort there mess out) we were able to remove the storage groups but we are receiving this error when trying to remove the public folder(we followed the path to where this database should be but the database was deleted. See Error below:

"Error: Exchange is unable to check for public folder replicas for the public folder database that you specified. Verify the Microsoft Information Store service is running, and that the database is properly mounted. Specified public folder database: "ELMO\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database".

MapiExceptionMdbOffline: Unable to determine if the store has local replicas (hr=0x80004005, ec=1142)

It's not mounted, it's gone. But it won't delete the configuration reference or allow me to change it."

Please help

ADSIedit to delete the DB references seeing as you wont be able to do the clean method

We have been pointed in that direction, is there a way to backup the ADSI before we delete the DB references, this is our first time doing this so i would feel a bit move comfortable we could do some sort of backup.

System State backup of your AD can be used to revert changes using ADSIE
