Good morning Gents.

Seeking some advice.
I'm wanting to get my own wheel's to get around town with. I can get a Renault Clio for 30k with new tires and has just been serviced. The car has had two owners and has a little bit of Sun damage.

The car is sitting around 160000 km on the clock.
Is this a good buy ? The interior is in perfect condition and has no problems at all.

Any mechanical advice anyone can give.

Clio 1 or 2 I presume? The first thing I would do is to take it for a cambelt change, any other failures of components can be handled but there's nothing as devastating as having a cambelt failure on your recently acquired ride.

Change the water pump, auxiliary belt and thermostat while you at it, the coolant bottle goes brittle and cracks, change that as well, look at the coolant hoses and change if required, especially the hot water hose. It would be to you advantage to see some antifreeze in the bottle, I would run a mile if I see water in there because it would mean corrosion and general lack of care.

Clio 1, the vehicle has been serviced 500km ago so i think she will be good to go just wanting to know is it a good deal and price for a car of that age ?

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with the price, it's a basic car, nothing fancy to go wrong, so yes it is a decent deal.
