Hi Guys,

Looking for some advice/direction on how to deal with a dodgy manufacturer branded dealership that 'serviced' my car.

Long story short, I caught them out lying about the service carried out on my vehicle. Got them to change the items they originally claimed to have changed. Took photos, job card and documented the entire interaction and passed this on to the manufacturers customer interaction center.

So here is the kicker, the manufacturer down plays the issue and says it's a miscommunication issue. Feels like the manufacturer does not want to take any accountability or responsibility.

I've alerted them to possible fraud as the service center claims from them as the car is under a manufacturer maintenance plan that I've purchased additionally.

I've said that an apology is not good enough as I had to do what I purchased a service plan for. Requested them to extend my service plan at their cost as a deterent to other service centers trying this stunt and to rebuild trust in their brand.

The response was negative, still waiting for regional after sales manager to make contact.

For me the issue is much larger than just my car not being serviced.
How many other people has this been done to?
How many other people are sitting on the side of the road due to service centers like this and having them pay a larger cost not through their own doing with no recourse?
How do we get manufacturers to hold their service centers accountable and not leave it up to their consumers?

Don't think there are any honest companies anymore, or very few still left. Manufacturers don't care, they know they dealing with a 3rd world country. The manufacturer's representative is probably outsourced as well.

So yeah don't think you going to get anywhere other than maybe just solving your issue and wasted a lot of time.

So you'll need to find out who underwriters the service plan and try reporting it through that avenue.

Let's guess people. This is likely a FORD
Ford just says the oil change isn't needed and good for the life of the vehicle which means they will sell you a complete new gearbox after the warrantee expired as they also don't repair anything.

Seems like the sad reality...

Ask them for the details of the motor ombudsman they have to provide it by law and see if that changes their tune.
Wanted to go through all the right channels first before going that route but it seems I may end up there...

It's the manufacturer

Its not.

It will be underwritten by a bank or insurance company. Its technically an insurance "package" that they offer on the car for a fee that is built into the price of the vehicle, and both insurance company/bank and the manufacturer are pricing it at a point that on average they will make a profit from.

It says the maintenance plan is approved and administered by the manufacturer. Just to clarify this is not an aftermarket warranty. The manufacturer allows the owner to extend the vehicle maintenance plan as long as the vehicle has an uninterrupted plan. I keep extending it each year. So not sure if there is any underwriter but the website does not mention it.

So a VAG then?
