Renault Duster - anyone have one?

Renault sees this as a game changer and they are flying out the doors, especially in India where they've rolled out 100 new dealerships. Hopefully, their popularity and the manufacturing scale means that supply issues will not be prevalent.

The rebranding did not make it more of a looker, still looks like a fat, unhappy constipated person squatting down on a toilet.

there is such a blurr in the cars coming out of the emerging world, be it brazil thailand, mexico, south africa, india etc that no one cares from where what is derived from. I'm trying to tell you to go stuff your comments as it has absolutely no bearing on the subject.

saying that this is a rebranded....
means nothing!

what are you trying to achieve by it?

1. The duster comes from a brand here in SA backed by good warranties and support.
2. The engine is rock solid. not subjective this; as its used in mercs, nissans, bigger renaults etc.
3. The price is right- very attractive actually for what you are getting.

so who the heck gives a flying cuckoo over your comment about it being a rebranded.....

It's a bit more complicated. In the European market it is sold as Dacia so not rebranded at all, however, considering that Dacia was bought lock, stock and barrel by Renault in order to access the eastern European market, and that they built and operate the Romanian plant, it might be more accurate to say that the Dacia is a re-branded Renault for the European market.

The Dusters that we get in South Africa, are manufactured by Renault in India where it's identity from manufacture to after-sales is purely only Renault.

That is the only thing attractive about the car. Every single other aspect of it is ugly. I think they must pay people to drive in that, block thing that looks like cheese that was forgotten on the counter and then the sun got to it and melted some bits into a horribly unappetizing chunk of sour milk.
