I have found that the easiest way to get around these dismissive feedback issues:

Ask the dealership to put their findings and recommendations on an official letterhead. Doesn't matter what your gender is - this will almost always guarantee you a proper investigation and response. Still ask for it on an official letterhead thereafter, though, even if your issue was sorted.

I've tried explaining this to my friend, however for some reason I seem more upset about it than she does, so it's her choice at the end of the day, I'm sure the impending heat wave will soon change her mind...
 
I've also been ripped off like that, when I didn't know better, regassed my car and 2hrs later R500 worth of aircon gas had made global warming that much more severe..

Even when I took the car back I was clueless so the guys sorry sob story didn't really mean anything to me and the money was gone and the car remained like a sauna.

That's why this story had me so irritated, this is an OEM dealership, not Frikkie down the road, and they are ripping people off blind, well either that or they are more stupid than I ever thought was possible, no offence to you, these are mechanics, they should know better than that.... I would have raged if I were you, I'm one of those people that hates hot weather, so to not have A/C is kind of a massive problem for me....
 
Dealerships typically don't have the equipment to regas a aircon. They will send you to a specialist which will test the system and regas. Happened on my 1 year old Ranger so no big deal. (Ford did cover all the costs under warranty.)
 
I recently had my Clio 4 expression serviced at Renault Fourways, and left there very impressed with the service I got.
Having just recently moved here, I'm very glad I chose them. I have also read some very scary stories about dismal servicing.

I'd recommend Renault Bryanston then... I've always had outstanding service there
