Renault Triber

The mid-range Dynamique and flagship Prestige models gain LED indicators on the exterior mirrors, Renault has also mentioned a new dual-tone hooter, which is fitted across the range.

Renault SA are now really scraping the bottom of the barrel when a 'new dual-tone hooter' and 'LED indicators on the side mirrors' are mentioned as detail-specific 'safety feature enhancements' to the Triber.

OH WAIT! - these 'essential safety features' are not available on SA's 'bread-and-butter' bargain basement best-seller, the VW Polo Vivo... so let's see how long it takes VW to catch up with Renault by adding these 'feature enhancements' to the VW Polo Vivo 'Mswenko' - but only as an additional 'extra cost' feature, as is usually the case with their 'options list' for all VAG products...

Renault Triber - Safest Mass Segment 7-Seater In India - Special Feature | MotorBeam

The Renault Triber has scored a 4-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests which were conducted a couple of months back.

The Renault Triber is a value-for-money 7-seater that combines a spacious cabin, lots of features and a lot of practicality.

REVIEW | Why Renault's new Triber seven-seater is more than just an affordable buy

• The Renault Triber presents itself as a high value proposition.

• The Triber offers seven seats, of which one is offered with only a lap belt.

• The seven-seat Triber boasts with low fuel consumption.

Summary

If you want space and the basic level of safety (ABS with EBD, two airbags), it ticks the boxes for these requirements. Even during an emergency brakes test I conducted, it performed well and didn't swerve or became unstable. Priced at R211 900, it is hard to fault the Triber for the value proposition it offers. That is if you need a spacious car with seven seats.

1. No idea still under 12 000km at the moment as we've kind of not driven it that much.
2. Never really checked
3. Not great, but not bad it's no where near their claimed rate.
4. For average sized people it will probably be fine, for me at 6.3 it can be a little uncomfortable, the seats aren't the most comfortable either, my wife finds it fine though.

Also please note this doesn't have ISOfix which is an odd omission, also has very few cup holders as well. Sure it has lots of bins all around it isn't for drinking coffee :-). Also the back seat is a bench seat.

Yup have had no issues, there was a recall on the first gens where they had some clip over the battery that broke, but they had changed it on the newer models. We literally went into Renu and they swapped in 10 minutes.

Renault sold over 2000 cars in November: here's what South Africans are buying from them

Renault sold 2 081 new vehicles in South Africa last month.

The Kwid was again the French automaker's top selling vehicle.

Renault's local portfolio was recently expanded by the Kiger crossover.

This past November, Renault South Africa has had a rather good sales month, selling an impressive 2 081 new vehicles. The French automaker's sales figure is the eighth-best in South Africa, putting it ahead of Kia, Haval, and Mahindra brands.

Renault's local portfolio has recently been expanded with the introduction of the Kiger, a small crossover that replaced the Sandero. The vehicle has all the makings to be a success in South Africa, offering buyers the chance to get into the crossover/SUV game without breaking the bank. For years now, Renault's approach has been to fill the market with affordable vehicles. Think first-generation Duster, Kwid, and Triber.

November sales figures: Renault

• Kwid: 876

• Triber: 719

• Duster: 150

• Kiger: 134

• Kiger Turbo: 123

• Sandero II: 58

• Koleos: 21

Renault Triber Express panel van added to South African market

The Renault Triber Express is the latest addition to the French brands portfolio in South Africa and is set to offer the practicality of the SUV on which it is based with the complete utility of a panel van. That means the loadbay can swallow 1500 L of cargo and a maximum 542 kg payload.

The existing and quirky styled SUV has been around for a few years but now Renault looks set to revitalise its function with the introduction of a Triber Express which is essentially the same as the base-spec SUV with front seats only.

That means that the loadbay accessible through the side doors or boot lid can have 1500 L of cargo loaded up weighing a maximum of 542 kg. This paired with 182 mm of ground clearance should make it a realistic alternative to small bakkies.

The Triber Express will be available with the price or R219 900 and can be had in five colours namely Ice Cool White, Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Electric Blue and Honey Yellow. Each model will be sold with a standard 2 year/30 000km Service Plan with a 5 year/150 000km mechanical warranty with services scheduled every 15 000km.

The problem with 7-seater cars in SA

Yup and honestly ours gets used more as a panel van, covid stopped a lot of kids going to Karate so the original reason for the car has been reduced to 4 people in it.
