Repair connection all the time

I got this canyon ralink wireless lan card....

And since yesterday I've been having to repair my connection all the time inorder for it to work.

It shows that its still connected to my router but I cant even ping the router.

Not a major problem but getting really annoying having to repair every 5 or 10min.

Any ideas?

I've just updated the latest drivers, didnt help.

Which operating system are you using? I know someone with a Canyon wireless adapter that has the same problem in Windows Vista but not in Windows XP.

Check your DNS:

1) With connection working properly
2) When connection gives issues

Start -> Run -> cmd -> ipconfig /all

More than likely, DNS is expiring and you aren't getting the new settings either because of a software BUG or because it isn't set up correctly.

Fixes:
1) Manually specify your DNS settings
2) Configure your router differently

Are you using the app that comes with the wireless to configure it or the windows app?

I founf with Gigabyte wifi cards you get better signal strngth if you use the GB app.

Using winXP, started yesterday after daily use since a year ago.

I will try check my dns settings, thanx.

How would I configure my router differently? My lappy works fine on the same router.
