Hi GUys

What are some of the decent repeaters to look for and what distance are they used for

THanks
dd

what medium are u using?
the short answer you are going to get here is use a switch, since this should still amplify the signal and be fairly cheap..

TBH i have never used a network repeater (except wireless..)
basically, its just a signal amplifier, a switch will set u back a few hundred rand and still provide extra points..

What is the safe distance between the 2 points to add a switch..after every 50 metres...?

Ethernet range is 100m so pointless adding a switch every 50m. Seeing the distance is 150m just put the switch in the middle at 75m.

Ethernet range is 100m, until it stops functioning at optimum speeds/efficiency. From my experience, you should run the cable, see what type of connection and speed you are getting from a 150m cable and if you see connection loss or speed is unacceptable then you always cut the cable and throw a switch in the middle or close to a power outlet. This will be your cheapest and easiest solution.

Any thoughts on the cost of repeaters and who sells them n SA

Any 2 or more port switch can function as a repeater.

i mentioned this in the 2nd post, but the OP seems to REALLY want a repeater...why? who knows, i dont even know if u can find them anymore..
