We would like to try and improve the wireless signal in our building without just throwing more access points at the problem. The access points in question are ciscos, with 3 antennas (for MIMO), running 802.11n on 2.4 Ghz , as we have equipment that can't use 5Ghz. Ideally I'm looking for something the will give me a 180 degree spread.

I have two questions:
1. I assume my new antenna will need three antenna ports? Or do I need three separate antennas?
2. Any suggestions or links?

I know the basics of radio signals but that is about it. Would appreciate any advice.

If your current AP's has three antennas you will need three to replace them, not one....
Please clarify what AP's you have... model numbers etc...
