My S6 Edge+ is about 20 months old and the battery seems to be on the way out.

Does anyone know what Samsung charge to have the battery replaced?

In the mornings for the last week it goes from 50-60% to 2% in about 30 minutes. I've done a factory reset to recalibrate but still a problem.

The phone I bought from someone on a vodacom contract but not sure if I could get vodacom to repair without an invoice and I use MTN SIM in the phone.
Is a battery problem even a warranty claim I don't know??

I had similar issues with my Galaxy S6 which is of similar age. I had the battery replaced by Samsung a week ago. I handed it in at their offices on William Nichol Drive (Click here for map).

I collected it two hours later and they charged me R620.00. My phone was not under warranty so I don't know if the battery is covered.

Thanks bud, will go past there then

I'd rather stick with a genuine Samsung cell than a generic. Samsung cells are one of the best.
Not sure if they are, but I am sure they are.

When samsung replace my phone's battery under guarantee, they gave me a Duracell battery.

Non-removable really only means it doesn’t have a cover that pops off and easy connectors.

Usually replacing it is as simple as a few screws and and a couple of pliers.

Have a look on iFixit for the repair guide and see if it’s really all that hard.

Did see some YouTube videos but would rather not do it myself. I'm going to take it to Samsung on Tuesday.

You need heat gun or hair dryer and a few special openings tools that you can can get off ebay for R50 but if Samsung only charges R600 incl original battery and labour I'd pay them because it's a finicky job and an original battery on its own won't be much cheaper.

After I watch the you tube video, I left it to the people who can.
That is what I don't like of new stuff, they become unserviceable.

On the lg 6 the reviews said that glas is for others to see that you are cool. That glass is the main reason I did not choose it.
