Report: Cop killings almost double

I wonder how many cops are killed in this country every year.
It's a dangerous job.
These stats about cops killing people would be a lot more meaningful if we actually knew how many were murders, how many were in self-defense, how many were accidental but justified, how many were on the job, off the job, due to ptsd, etc.
I don't envy them at all.

Maybe I will ask the department of criminology for it. Most of you probably know but South Africa has the most police killed in the world(not sure if it still is).

That glib statement doesn’t help them; we actually used to get positive comments from residents in our township. Most people don’t know what goes on in the townships, what you see in the news is not even a quarter of it

We tend to get the above from people who know they are in the wrong but try to wriggle out of it

Next time, a cook will come out shout at me when I make a complaint, "don't complain too much, you know nothing about cooking, it is so complicated to make a dish. It has too many different parameters, variable are endless."

Have you not read the replies, everyone here has acknowledged that there are problems and they need to be addressed immediately, where we disagree is your tactic of condemning the entire SAPS based on the officers who have committed criminal acts.

The SAPS is separate from the ANC, it is a function of the state and while the state is run by the ANC they can not dictate willy nilly to the SAPS. The SAPS function is defined by the constitution and relevant regulations that were promulgated by all parties in 1994 onwards
