Reporting abuse?

Jissus fok tog. Punching a child would require someone to immediately stop the assault and call SAPS, keep the child safe until another care giver arrives or SAPS.

Screaming at a child the entire day would need a visit from a social worker and not SAPS.

Would it be wise to suggest to the OP to report the person to SAPS if the kid pissed on the carper and were screamed at for the remainder of the day?

What if the child were discussing the tax evasion of his parents with the neighbours child and it was beaten? Then we need to suggest SAPS and SARS are called, and not a social worker.

Nobody here asked for details such as the kid was punched until he could no longer move and then pissed on etc etc but certain details are required to make an informed decision.
Did you even read any of my other posts before deciding to be vexed by this one?

These anonymous reports are cowardly in my view.

I've been on the receiving end of two anonymous complaints that put me in a huge inconvenience with very little recourse against the person who made the false claim

A few years ago a neighbour died as a result of an anonymous complaint.

I trust the media even less

If he did die it wasn't the complaint that was the problem, just corrupt and incompetent police in general.

He would not have been arrested if it was not for the complaint.

If you know police are corrupt and incompetent and your actions lead to somebody ending up in their custody, you have to take responsibility for your actions

This is the problem with a broken system.
That is like saying it is better for a little girl to be raped for 15 years daily, than allowing family care to go check the situation.

Pfft.

If you think there is abuse. Report it.

and what if it turns out there's no abuse? But the alleged abuser is unable to prove otherwise? Then what?

If there is no abuse they won't need to do anything. At least they will check to make sure everything is fine.

Do you have any experience with Family Care or the Social System?

Do you have experience with reality?
