A few of you know about the struggle I'm having with Telkom and I've literally done everything in my power to get my line fixed but it's obviously hasn't been fixed.

My only option now is to lodge a complaint with the National Consumer Commission against telkom, as I've missed 4 weeks of college sitting at home with my thumb up my arse waiting for these clowns.

Has any one used the NCC? Are they helpful or just as useless?

Thanks.

Afrihost have to get Telkom to fix it.

Hound Afrihost as it is their problem, not yours. That's why you are paying them.

I get what you are saying, but ive always logged my faults directly with Telkom, and I hate dealing with a middle man.

If the Telkom call centre agent was doing their job properly, they should be telling you to call Afrihost and then terminate your call.

Then ive spoken to 12 call center agents and 4 supervisors who cant do their job properly.

The thing is, a techie did come out to my house (once) but he came when the neighbor didn't have the domestic in that day.

But I told Telkom 100 fscking times to come on specific days but the techies don't show.

I don't see how AH will make telkom technicians come to my house, that's what I'm trying to say.

6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other.

No.

If you have your line with Afrihost, You must log your faults through Afrihost and deal with the middle man due to the "Discount"

If you don't have your DSL line with Telkom, You have no right to call the Telkom call center for DSL Line Related queries.

The reason why Telkom Retail DSL Lines are more expensive is due to the costs of running the DSL Call Center...

So effectively, You want to receive the discount and call the Telkom call center. So your having your cake AND eating it.

And my question remains, why hasn't anyone from the call center told me this?

Maybe they're just ignorant, I dunno. I heard something about them no longer assisting in the near future.

Bottom line is you have a contract with AH, that is who you should deal with. If Telkom has been taking your calls count that as a bonus.

You can try the NCC but they will dismiss you as you lodged a complaint against the wrong entity. You don't have a bill from Telkom indicating they are providing you with a adsl service. If you don't want to deal with the middle man then don't make use of their services.

That is what you are paying them for, they have to manage their upstream provider, if they can't then they are not doing the job you are paying them for.
