With all the reworded repeat articles on this website, can I request an article on the finer details of FTTH.
Im curious on how the entire thing works, example, how does fibre get from a PoP to your home, are they using a 1500 pair fibre cable or are there sub distribution points all over the neighbourhood and how are these powered?
How is the fibre on the road split to branch into a users property?
If the fibre is broken (due to other works in the area), how do the guys figure out the fault location and how will be repaired? (sometimes Telkom just puts you on a new cable pair)
There was an article awhile back on a fibre install, but it did not contain enough technical bits to fully understand the underground workings.
