Reset iPhone and Restore from backup - everything will be restored?

If I do a backup to iCloud, phone factory reset and restore from backup will my phone restore to exactly the way it was at the last backup, I won’t need to setup anything, all sms/Whatsapp messages and photos/Photos/apps etc will be restored and I can continue as if nothing changed?
Anything I should know before I start the process?

I'm not getting notifications, I've tried everything and nothing has helped, apparently a reset and restore may do the trick.

Update, here's how it's done:

First backup the whole phone to iCloud or iTunes

Back up iPhone

Back up iPhone using iCloud or your computer. If you replace your iPhone, you can use the backup to transfer your information to the new device.

You should probably run a separate WA backup from within the app to be on the safe side.

If you're worried about your photos, and I always am, then download them directly to your computer - viva la cable connection.
 
I did the process very recently when I moved from the 11er to the 13 M.

Not via iCloud, via Finder Backup & Restore, I always prefer an offline backup.

It worked out extremely well, nothing lost. No lost bookmarks, pics, WA messages & groups, even all my Huawei health data was 100% transferred over. No errors nothing, the phone may get a bit warm from all the indexing of files & re-dowloading all your Apps.

It is as you say "can continue as if nothing changed". I just had to sort out out my MS MFA for work (an external matter).

Apple schit to Apple schit just talks in an unmatched manner compared to anything else.

I cleaned up WA and backed up but even if you reset your iPhone that won't remove the Photos you've taken from iCloud will it?

Yea I did an old school offline backup now just to be safe, I've heard sometimes iCloud restores don't always go as planned and having a backup of the backup is great, it's saved me once before.

As you like it. It's quick and easy with a cable and I don't take chances with photos.

I sold my Macbook a while back and I'm all back on PC in terms of computers so it's not as easy.
As long as they won't auto delete in the cloud when I reset the phone I'm comfortable leaving them in the cloud.

As long as everything is ticked to backup to iCloud you’ll be fine.

Or make sure you don’t care about the unticked things.

But a manual backup doesn’t hurt and is faster too.

No, nothing like that.

iCloud isn’t even aware the phone resets.

Used to be even easier on a PC than it is on a mac. You connected it via usb and just copied them across. When did that change?

You will be fine. When you setup the phone again you will use your existing iCloud account and everything that was backed up will be there. I did it in the evening and by the AM it was all done.
 
The only way to get a carbon copy is via a computer backup. iCloud only restores that which is backed up to iCloud (usually most things).
 
If you using iTunes to backup, make sure it’s encrypted. This will ensure all settings and passwords are copied over. If you have banking apps you will have to relink your device.

To be safe, I use both methods iCloud and iTunes to backup my phone.
 
Make 100% sure that anything that uses and Authenticator can be signed into through a backup method or that you transfer the Authenticator keys to another device.
 
I need help urgently. My iphone 6 was full. My icloud was also full. I deleted tons of whatsapp chats because that was what was filling my memory. But the memory stayed full. I also have a iphone 6s so I moved my WhatsApp to the emty phone. And tried to link another number to the WhatsApp on the iphone 6 wich was full. Because I had important messages that I couldn't lose. It didnt wat to link to the new number. When I Changed back to my original number al WhatsApps were gone. Is the there any way to get it back?

Did you backup whatsapp to icloud?
If you did you should be able to restore the chats.
