Residential Complex Intercom/Security Upgrade

We had the same issue recently. We are 5 units. There were just too many remotes out there in the field. Random estate agents had remotes, etc. So I wiped all the programmed remotes from the centurion control box. And had each tenant bring their remotes to be programmed again.

We have a double-entry swing gate with Centurion motors. And the same for exit on the other side. So 4 motors.
We also have a couple of Centurion G-Ultra intercom units that dial the tenants' phones.

Each unit can then load call tokens on the Ultra, and your guest presses your button, and your phone rings. You answer and press 1, and the gate opens. Not fscking rocket science.

Yet none of them use this feature.

Another thing that grinds my mofo balls. The kids from the one unit come home from school every day. They then proceed to either press my button repeatedly or they stand in front of the gate and yell at the auntie/nanny/domestic or whatever to open the gates for them. She then walks outside, usually not dressed, with only a towel wrapped around her, and she opens the gate for them.

I have talked to their parents before and asked if I could program a remote for the kids so they have their own one. Or they could just call your unit number from the G-speak ultra, and you open for them. Yet they just carry on screaming until someone opens for them.

I donno.

Thanks. Did you set it up yourself?
I think they recently upgraded the comms to 4g with a Vodacom sim which is way faster and better than the previous one (think it was MTN).
The idea is to avoid reprogramming remotes every so often but it seems this is unavoidable.
On the Comb interface you assign remotes to units and can view an access log table
Every few months or if a resident reports a stolen remote I delete the inactive remotes

Each unit can then load call tokens on the Ultra, and your guest presses your button, and your phone rings. You answer and press 1, and the gate opens...

This sounds like a plan. So each unit is responsible for ensuring sufficient tokens for their & their guest's access?

Because we live in the land of criminals. If they can't clone a remote and they want to get in, they will cut off someone's fingers or pull out their eyes. They will wait for you to get home and then get in.

It's not an Africa solution.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
Remote are loaned, borrowed, lost. They are massive weak point in the security system. You cant share biometrics. Noone is going to cut your hand off to use your fingerprint, this isn't a movie and even if they did, it wouldn't work.
Case in point, a complex I used to run, 100 units. There used to insider break-ins about once a week. No one hurt but things got stolen. This is with 2 security guards at the front. Moved to biometrics, never been a single break-in since.
Its been 11 years now.

Plus fingerprint biometrics is a cesspool for germs. Think of all the snot, spit, KFC and other bodily fluids sticking to this one sensor. Rater look at face recognition systems.
Not cheap but work great.
