Good morning all,

My wife asked that I post this here.

Little man arrives in April next year. One of the hot topics is the nappies.

Now we are more earth friendly focused. Solar, recycling, slow fashion etc.

So the preference is reusable nappies. We will get disposable nappies for times when it makes sense to like travelling etc.

But if there is anyone that has used reusable and can vouch for a brand that would be great. Alternatively if the response is we tried it it was bad that might be how this ends as well.

Price is not the driving factor here, earth friendly is.

Disposable at the start as they poop 24 hours. When the poops become less often switch to cloth and disposable liners. Then when things go more scheduled swith to washable cloth and liners. It's also great for them to use for poop drawing on the walls.

Also don't buy too much as you don't know if the thing is allergic to anything. And the stuff is hell expensive as with most kids stuff. Some don't like certain materials.

This makes the most sense was also toying with this approach

All I will say is: a newborn takes over your WHOLE life. We had amazing plans and ideas of how we would handle it...and it all went to schit.

You just survive day to day with sleep being the biggest luxury.

Believe me when I tell you that washing **** and piss from nappies and getting them dry for re-use, will be an absolute nightmare.

Especially when baby gets it's first attack of the schits and you have to do a nappy change every 30 minutes for 48 hours straight.

There's many other ways to "save the planet"...
 
Before my son was born his mother was adamant that we were only going to use cloth nappies. After about 2 days I had to go buy disposable nappies and we had a whole stack of cloth nappies for washing cars.
 
OMG I see a they/them in the making with all this save the planet talk.
What cars do you drive? They also saving the earth?
Will the traveling with the baby include airplanes? Then maybe skip one of the trips to counter all the disposable nappy use.
Its 2024, who still wants to wash spuitpoep nappies?

I think if you want to start planning you should start buying the nappies now as I think you go through them quickly buy a whole lot on Black Friday then you will be sorted
