Hi Guys

I have always hosted my own email server using my 128k Diginet line from Telkom. Every now and again I get a bottle neck and am keen on using my ADSL line for outgoing mail. I have got this working with two network cards in the mailserver and all works well, except for the reverse DNS issues I get via the ADSL line ... I use DynDNS to map a DynDNS name to the dynamic IP address, but am not exactly sure what to do when it comes to the MX record (when you do a reverse DNS lookup, it shows Telkoms assigned domain name for that IP)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated in order not to look like a spammer via the ADSL line :)

Cheers
Shaun

For telkom you'll need to set your server to relay through smtp.saix.net
Proper way if you want to send directly off ADSL is to get a business dsl package with fixed IP, then you can request your own reverse dns.
