I would not accept this. ID docs are only to be accepted in the issuing country. It is not meant for international purposes. Neither are we interested in knowing where you live in your home country...we want to know where you are living in South Africa. Passport and proof of South African address please.
I use two RICA systems here and both have:
Address Line 1
Address Line 2
Suburb
Postal Code
Country
as entry fields.
Without this, it would not be possible to RICA say a customer who is touring in SA and using only camp site for example. I would agree that it would not be acceptable for a permanent resident to use this facility. However, the system does accept UK addresses without any spaces in the UK postcode!
As a footnote:
All European driving licences (that contain a photograph) are valid in South Africa. All European Amateur Radio Licences are also valid in South Africa.
