RIP Charlie Kirk

A while back I put out these rules for the internet. 1. When we disagree, we fight. 2. We have a beer afterward. 3. When we agree, we unite. I got a lot of flack, surprisingly, for the line about the beer. People would ask, "Oh yeah, would you have a beer with Charlie Kirk?!"

Well, I did. And I'm glad I did, because now I won't get to. Yes, Charlie and I disagreed a lot and about really important things. But somehow we didn't lose our humanity. We were still fellow Americans.

We can all choose to hate each other now. That's a normal, human reaction. We can choose to blame each other, and I'm sure we will, endlessly. Or we can defy the voices of division in the country, and have a beer together. This time, in grief.

If you really want to strike back at whoever did this, listen to each other instead of hating one another. They want us to hate each other. Treating one another as brothers and sisters, as a united America, would be a historic act of defiance.

Since I'm on the left, I'll go first. For everyone on the right, and most especially the Kirk family, I am so sorry for your loss. I share your grief and I want you to know our hearts are with you!

Rightoids on X right now on a massive cancellation attempt tirade of leftoids who mocked Kirk's assassination.
Let's see how successful it is.

Do you support or condemn the media condonation of the murder of a father and husband, no matter his views?

You say that now but by tomorrow someone will do a mega stich of all the controversial things he ever said and we wont even know which issue the shooter killed him over.

I'm not saying its right to kill someone over an opinion - but people who openly say the things he said, might want to talk behind some bullet proof glass.

That, but you said, is disgusting and defending this for any reason is disgusting.

It's not right to kill someone over an opinion.

I'm sure his daughter and wife are distraught by me not mourning the "loss" the world has suffered.

Willing to bet that if he didn't have a cool surname that was easy to remember half the brain dead virtue signallers shouting RIP wouldn't give a ****.

I do believe that I care more about a human life taken by gun violence than Charlie did though.
Try spell Milo Yiannopoulos without Google..

The world has suffered a loss, which is free speech. People will now be more hesitant to not debate things that are important. How many people will want to go to a collage campus now and give a bunch of pro-abortion people an arguement why they are wrong?

Erm, that won't work, r/westerncape mods collected a whole bunch of cases and took it up with Reddit. What did Reddit do, they banned r/westerncape

Whose money is behind Reddit? That may be telling.

isn't tasteful to do it now considering what happened to him
that episode already aired some time ago though

their show and if they pulled it as a sign of respect good on them, it was a decent episode that should be back when they reckon enough time has passed imo

The Southern Democrats did not like him, today JFK would probably be classified as a right winger.
Biden's and Hillary's views from the 90s would be considered far-right now. They were still Democrats in the 90s, as JFK was a Democrat in the 60s.

Holy hell, I just watched the video of him getting shot. It's brutal. I can see why people are so pissed and upset.
Having something like that out there forever in HD is a family member's worst nightmare.
So bloody unnecessary.

It kinda feels like this is the event that closed the chapter on what the Trump assassination could have been.
I don't know what coming back from this looks like in US politics, 'cause I don't think there is coming back from it.

EDIT:
The motherf**ers on here celebrating this, minimising it or wanting to whataboutism this away need to sit in front of a mirror for a while before dropping the edgy remarks. It's really not that hard to agree that this is absolutely insane and completely unacceptable.

The family of any murdered person deserve respect and empathy, no matter their status in life, known or unknown. It's not about them, it's about you.

With all due respect, the world hasn't lost anything besides one person.

Free speech is as alive as it has ever been (on life support for eons).....reality is no speech is without consequence. What we need to agree on is that consequences for thought/speech/opinion shouldn't be fatal.

Debate can be heated, even aggressive in tone. But we should allow ourselves to revolve to such a state that we accept irrational actions as a given if you are being disagreeable.
