Ukrainians celebrate assassination of Charlie Kirk in Telegram chats

After Donald Trump confirmed the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, Ukrainian Telegram channels erupted in vile celebration. The posts are filled with gloating, mockery, and hatred — not condolences.

Some of the comments read:

“Finally, damn uncertainty is over
😂
”

“Glory to God, it happens.”

“He’s dead, that f*er, shouldn’t have spoken against Zelensky.”

“This is how it should be for everyone who talks trash about Ukraine.”

“Now it’s Trump’s turn?”

“Best post he ever made.”

“Why didn’t this cursed Russian-lover stay at home?”


Others simply wrote “Glory to God” or “URA!!!” celebrating his death.

Even those who admitted they did not agree with Kirk’s politics condemned the Ukrainian commenters themselves as “animals” for rejoicing over the murder of a political speaker.

The reaction underscores a grim truth: far from being “defenders of democracy,” many in Ukraine openly cheer political violence abroad — so long as it silences voices critical of Zelensky’s regime.

Reddit is an echo chamber of leftism. I got banned from r/pics just for questioning why every second post was pro-Kamala and the other one was anti-trump instead of any other topic in the world? That said, I also got banned from r/southafrica simply for participating in r/capetown, where I live. It's dangerous for people to think that those kind of platforms represent reality, but it can also be humorous to see reality slowly dawn on people (the 2024 election being the prime example).
