I shouldn't have to explain this to you. You know it inherently. It's how all societies work.

For example you can drive past an accident and ignore it. A government cannot ignore citizenry in danger. They have an obligation, both legal and moral, to assist. You do not... because you're an individual, not a government. You're not the same. These principles are not universally scalable.

It's got nothing to do with what you or I think individual policies of a government should be. These are just examples.

The point is a government has a set of principles it must adhere to for all people. The government doesn't get to pick and choose who it applies those principles to and who it doesn't.

You as an individual are free to pick and choose who you apply your principles to. Family gets treated different to the rest of society. This is entirely normal for an individual, not for a government.

WHAT those principles a particular government decides upon are, is irrelevant.
