Road Rage.... Your Experience

Yup, and american's are retards :)
Learn when to capitalise proper nouns and when not to apostrophise then we'll talk about me possibly being a retard.

Interesting topic.

A few years ago, I started driving in Durban and never experienced road rage much, to be honest.

However, moving to JHb 6 years ago, it became so bad that as soon as I got into a road rage incident, it would almost always get out of hand by me over reacting and thinking I was the "Traffic police" on the road - instead, I was just a young guy, being an ass.

I used to even stop in front of people and get out... bad times.

However, over the last two years I have calmed down completely. Unless someone forces me to slam on breaks and puts my life in danger, I couldn't care less.

I now just say to myself "That dude is a chop..he will come short.." and "Let it go..."

It's mostly thanks to the So that I have calmed down - she showed me what an idiot I was being as I didn't realize it.
I relized that there is just no point in getting upset over what other people do / don't do. I cannot control it and therefor, I don't worry about it.

It has never gotten this bad though:

funny...when I moved from Jozi to durbs my road rage spiked through the roof! the not knowing how to treat a 4 way intersection as a 4 way stop street when the lights were out was enough to have me swearing everyone up and down :)

couple years later, I learned out to deal with the traffic here and if I move again I'll probably have to control my temper in the new area.

one thing though I am not looking forward to is when I move back to the states, i'm probably going to get locked up in jail for driving there after spending so many years here

1. speeding
2. California stops - rolling slowly through the stop signs
3. lack of use of indicators when changing lanes
4. running red lights late at night (so I don't get hijacked)

So was he going too fast or too slow at 20km/h?

He was driving erratically and too slow for a road where people exceed 60km/h on sharp corners so my concern was being tail piped.
This fool then gingerly start to turn off, no indicator and it was after 6pm and his lights where off.:)

latest road rage: someone indicates they are turning as soon im about to drive boom turns indicator off and im already half way across road... cant you hear your indicator annoying you?

lol keep a pellet gun in the car ... incase one of these loonies run at you with a baseball bat etc

Road Rage.... is for the stupid. The end.

I mean driving well be so much be better if people just follow 2 rules. Keep left, pass right and signal when changing lanes and do so when it is safe.

I mean i see people cutting in front of trucks in traffic because there is a "gap". Little do they know that trucks need that space to come to a stop

Driving can be such a nice freeing experience if people follow those 2 simple rules

Add to that actually stopping on the green if there is nowhere for you to go at an intersection instead of waiting until it goes red and then parking yourself in the middle of the intersection so that now everybody else can't go anywhere.

I was amazed at how much BETTER traffic was in Cape Town the night of Bon Jovi not because the cops directed traffic or blocked off roads but Purely because their presence stopped the above from happening and therefore the traffic flowed smoothly.
