Hi Guys and Gals.

Please share your Road Rage incidents...

Yesterday I was driving when suddenly this guy in front of me stops for no reason at all then goes, I felt so crappy I want to... but I just hooted and him and drove off...

We are going into the festive season, so please stay clear of Road Rage;)

The only road rage incident I ever had where I almost lost it was at clearwater Mall about a year ago I think. I felt bad afterwards though. I was driving around trying to find a parking and it was really busy. I saw some woman approaching her car so I went around the island and approached from the other side, stopped and indicated and waited for the woman to start her car and reverse out.

It took her a while and while I was waiting I suddenly noticed the roof of another car approaching from the other side and stopping as well obviously wanting to turn into our aisle of parking and take her spot. He obviously didn't see me waiting there already as the womans car was between him and me but I somehow knew he was waiting for the parking. Well the woman reversed out and drove off and I pulled into the parking.

Suddenly the guy...a middle aged man starts hooting and complaining at me. For some odd reason I really lost it with him and apparently I was half out my window shouting back and swearing.

Only reason I felt bad afterwards is because he was older and I felt disrespectful toward him but I knew I was in the right anyway :/ he could have easily climbed out though and who knows how that would have gone.

Mostly these days my anger goes towards taxi's. Any twit who thinks they have a right to drive like they do deserves a smack!! :p they drive about arms reach away from my rear bumber, cut in front of me, cut around others to go into emergency lanes, swerve in between traffic and make illegal turns by traffic lights to save time EVERYDAY!!! I never fail to see it.

I only wish people would just try and pay a little more attention. Please look further than 2 cars ahead, use those mirrors and indicators and stop being so semi-conscious on the roads!

And I'm pretty sick and tired of tailgaters as well. If I'm passing vehicles at 120km/h, then there is no way in high hell that sitting 1.3m from my bumper will cause me to accelerate or leap out of the way.

In 7 years on the N1 to Jhb, I've had my share of angry altercations, but my mission is to be a calm driver and not have a heart attack due to some other selfish stupid idiot's impatience. The rule now is simply that "we're all trying to get to our destinations, so let's get there in one piece"

I think if you drive like a t0sser, you need to driven of the road and I'd do it without letting my blood boil, so no rage there, infact I think I'll be laughing as his car is stuck in a ditch after driving him of the road...

What annoys me are these people that stick to the right hand and drives just as slow as the left hand lane cars, the law specifically states that if they are suppose to move over to the left for faster cars, but they don't, so besides a taxi etc driving like a t0sser, I would classify him also driving as a t0sser and hence he needs to driven of the road. Again as he is stuck in the ditch laugh at him, again no blood boiling there lol.

Then you get those that don't watch in which lane you are, they driving slow in the right hand lane, me coming closer at a reasonable speed. I decide to move to the left as I see clearly they are staying in the right hand lane as I don't want to waste energy and lose momentum and thus increasing fuel consumption. I'm close and suddenly they move over to the left and I'm in the left hand lane, half way through they realize I'm in the left hand lane, I'm braking so their car don't take out my nose. Then they serve back to the right... again a t0sser driver that needs to be driven of the road, but at least they do that themselves, as sometimes they swerve out into the ditch themselves... I just continue cruising and laughing, again no blood boiling there (although dew do adrenaline as an accident was just avoided my heart is pumping faster).

The latest one for me (wasn't a biggie though) was when I was entering a petrol station. I pulled off the road and drove along to a parking spot outside the garage shop. It was quite busy and as I passed the pumps, some half-asleep fool driving a bakkie hell-for-leather in between the pumps, didn't see me. I caught him out of the corner of my eye and braced for impact because I thought he was about to t-bone me. It never came. Instead there was just loud screeching of tires. I got out of my car to go to the shop and that's where our ego-bashed hero thought he would regain some face by screaming and shouting at me about my bad driving (that would be, uh, entering a petrol station). Anyway, I firmly issued the middle finger, made a calm remark and waited for him to get out. Then he did a wheel spin and buggered off.

i have on one or four occasions, thrown anything from an unopened coke can, too a mcd's cheeseburger, too coins, at taxi drivers that p!ssed me off (more than unsual)....

.

LOL @ Flanders & wizdumb :D

EvoBunny I'm with you on that one. Drive the bastards off the road and remain calm :D

Sometime last year a tosser moved to the right lane at 60km/h right in front of a BMW I was driving behind, doing 120km/h. The BMW driver yelled at the tosser as he was overtaking but the tosser thought it was funny. The tosser was rewarded with a bottle/glass on his face. I felt a bit sorry for him but how dare you laugh after almost causing an accident?

yesterday in fact, i was driving on the N1 to century city, and i was talking to my uncle. All of a sudden the guy in front of my breaks so hard, that he drove onto the gras next to the tar. Almost a huge accident, i just had enogh space in front of me so i'm fine :)

Well, I have been a victim as well, but I got the last say, he he! I was approaching a robot that went orange. I stopped at the robot, but the guy behind me started hooting at me for not crossing over the yellow light, as he obviously was in a hurry. I could have dropped the guy for a joke, but instead, I pulled off verrrrrrrrrry slowly, and as the other lane was full of cars, he was stuck, he he! I drove like that for about 50 meters, and then put voet and drove off. LOL! THe look on his face was priceless!

haha, yesterday was really funny aswell. I was standing at a robot, next to a M3, with 2 guys in it. He reved is M3, i raved our family bus, the light turned green and i drove off and the road turned into a one lane road so he was stuck behind me, sooo funny :D

My biggest irritation of late was at the Commando Road / Main Reef intersection.

When that intersection gets busy and backed up, you get a bunch of selfish ****s that shoot into the Highgate parking lots, and drive through about 200-300m of parking lot, and then squeeze into traffic again right at the robot. Everybody is waiting in line, and their actions actually block traffic that could have gone through unhindered from the other side. Net loss for everybody, even though the selfish ****s save a few minutes.

This happens at several busy intersections, and irritate me to no end :p Technically not breaking a law (unless they get stuck in the intersection and block the road for the oncoming lane), but definitely not being considerate.

Anywhere where people do this is a pain though. Worst is taxis (or some other cars), that hop into a turning-only lane, shoot to the front, and then force themselves back into traffic.

For the most part I've kept my cool though. Although I do at times purposefully block these people from making their way into normal traffic if they were committing a traffic violation to gain position. Often this means they would be blocking traffic though, so I end up letting them in if they do :p

Yesterday i had one incident. We were on travelling west on 14" just after MTN. so i hoped into the right hand lane, the right hand lane gets closed off after the robot making the road two lanes. so people stay on the other lanes.

Technically i was right because where i was the road was still fine. So after the robot i need to indicate and squeeze into the middle lane because the lane I'm on is being closed off.

So this old Man in a BMW blocks me, i mean he was on the other lane, but he chose to block me instead. i was no where near him. he actually went out of his way to block me. then at the next robot, i pull of before him and change lanes to enter the lane he is in. I drove slowly. Then at the next robot he also does the same, i laughed and let him go. hahahaha
