Robbers pose as census workers

I've just had a questionnaire filled in and there is something I've realised: I was approached by a single woman and I wasn't concerned for my safety which made me wonder how safe these women are going to do this by themselves. I understand I am in a safe area, and I'm sure they go in pairs elsewhere. However, there is the odd crazy nutjob out there, I wouldn't like to be doing their job.

What? So you're telling me that a normal looking person in his home can also be a criminal?

Come now guys, all they need to know is how many whiteys are left in the country.

While it's all good and well verifying someones identity, I have no clue if he/she has criminal minded friends that he/she can contact.
For some reason all the people I have heard protest race identity are white. Why is this? They phone into radio shows and claim they have been told not to (or won't) answer the race classification question even when the statistician general says they must.

I think it has something to do with the classification. AFAIK there is a box for both African and White but Blacks aren't being counted. And I might be mistaken but I think Blacks make up a significant part of the population.

It's because the government/police don't wont criminals to be identified by way of race so why should people identify themselves as such too. It's like all those white grannies phoning into radio stations wanting to learn the new national anthem.

I heard (from the stats general) that it says, "black african".

That makes no sense at all.

Well, maybe they are complaining that it doesn't say "white african"

I suppose I could follow the link from a page ago and look at the form but it seems that the interweb is slow

A question though - why is the English version in 3 parts and the ones in the non-English or Afrikaans languages so small?

+1

The problem for the government is they can't use black, seeing as that refers to the Chinese, Indians, coloureds and others in equity references.

It does? News to me - I thought all that equity stuff was about designated groups.

I think the government is trying to get people to deny their birthrights

The real issue that I have is that these guys can go bragging at night (Today I spoke to a dude that has this and this and this and earns this much is not at home during the day and has only this security) It is easy for someone to abuse information that comes to light from these visits. Sorry to say but my safety is no1 - government census last.

It's easy - we don't have an intercom so we don't get bothered by the uninvited. If you know us, you'll have our number.

And we did the RICA thing so if the government really is serious about counting stuff they can look up a cell number and call to make an appointment.

So, you have never read a BEE share offer prospectus:p... that would make sense as being white you wouldn't need to look in one of those. To be sure, the B in BEE = Black:o
