From 1983 - 1987 Mugabe killed some 20 000 blacks in Matabeleland.
Apartheid was blamed by the TRC (Tutu Revenge Comrades) for a total of 7000 deaths in its forty years of existence. The ANC, in its early years, killed off an estimated 360 000 AIDS/HIV sufferers.
Under ANC guidance, some 20 000 people (about 85% males) have been murdered every year since 1994.
Nobody ever speaks about the thousands of blacks that died during the Angolan and Mozambican Civil Wars that ravaged those countries when it comes to pure numbers of dead people in Southern Africa. It’s a disgrace that South Africa is only ever remembered for people who died in detention, hanged by the old regime or killed covertly by members of Vlakplas. The atrocities in Zimbabwe under Mugabe’s rule is testament to another African despot and dictator who sought only to better the lives of himself and his conniving buddies in ZANUPF. Not to mention the stolen elections......
My only analogy is to compare the opportunities presented to each of the citizens of Zimbabwe and that was presented to the citizens of Singapore when they achieved independence from Great Britain. People will say … oh no you can't compare the two but why not .....
Singapore doesn't even have the Agricultural Land that Zimbabwe has, yet they took their country after independence from Britain and made a huge success of it in a couple of decades and while they had no agricultural land to spare they decided to become a financial hub and here today Singapore is called the Mini-Switzerland of Asia, a former British Colony. Zimbabwe on the other hand, known as the bread basket of Africa took their situation and turned it into the basket case of Africa and yet you will hear praises from people like Julius Malema. It’s the African Conundrum, the more you steal and stuff up your country the more praise you receive which means the people giving the praise are the problem.
Waiting to hear what the ANC has to say about Mugabe as we had literally two decades of silent diplomacy here in South Africa.
Also waiting to hear what Helen Zille (The Singaporean Colonial Tweet Lady) has to say about Mugabe.
Sort of ironic that Mugabe died in a Singaporean Hospital....a former British Colony. Perhaps he felt closer to home there with its old Breetish roots.
