Roku 3 tips and discussions.

Guys please help. I just got a Huawei b315 router and there nowhere to update DNs.

Roku such a shame, why would they drop that perfect version of the app. It could direct play almost any file I had whereas the new one transcodes the same files. Installed on my Roku 4 and it really helped with those 4K Hevc files where the new version chooses to transcode and buffer AF.

I guess the last remaining option is Rarflix (also good at directplaying all my files). Was actually planning on buying the Roku Ultra but now will have to tread carefully and watch if they are going to drop Rarflix as well

I have a feeling Plex themselves had a hand in this no? The rest of the new Plex clients suck. Just look for comments on the new Plex for Android and IOS

I blame Plex as much as Roku. Why didn't Plex just design a lite version of plex, based on classic. That keeps everyone happy.

And I don't like the way Roku just deleted the classic version from my Rokus.

Just checked my Roku now, yeah they wiped it off mine too. Quite ruthless of them, it's like they still own the devices though we already paid for them. And there's no real sideloading either in Roku world, they control the sideloading via that private channels method
 
This sucks, I NEED Plex on there. Now if only DSTV would have an app for Roku

There's still plex. They pulled plex classic.

Agreed about a DSTV app.

Sounds like the new Plex, classic had the original interface before they required sign in into Plex.tv on start

It just opened and worked hard :-)

Then it's Plex. Classic says Plex Classic... or rather said, seeing as it's gone now.

I plugged in my old Streaming Stick a couple days ago and watched it disappear in front of my eyes :o

ah, ok - never had Plex Classic running then so can't miss what I never had :o
