Rolling Blackouts enter Stage 3

That is sooo cool Mighty. Just in time. Enjoy :-)

Did you get advice on what to buy from myBB or did someone else help you make a decision. How much did you pay (if you don't mind sharing). How many batteries? Inverter means electric power not solar, is that correct.

Did a lot of Googling and calling around. Bought a 1000W inverter and a charger from iWarehouse for R1392 & R 899. Bought a deep Cycle battery from Battery Centre for R 1440. Made up a lead for R220. Made up special cables from battery to inverter for R90.

R4 041 incl. vat. I buy through my company so I claim the Vat back. So R 3544 for whole setup.

Worth it for me.

The inverter changes the battery power (12 V AC) to power the same as your normal power for your house. ( 220V DC)...I think.
Don't care as it works!

Any idea if we are going to be earlier as the power went off at 4 instead of 6 ? Or will we only be back at 9pm ?

Ours went off at 4pm and came back at 7:30 pm.
But our neighbouring suburb which went off at the same time, has yet to come back on.

So yeah... I don't think you can count on anything.

Thanks, your research will come in handy. Definitely very well worth the money.

PE is now on stage 3 load shedding, 4 hours instead of 2. Our power went off 1 hour before it was scheduled at 17:00 (group 5) and came back on just after 20:00.

Seems we have an interesting weekend ahead of us :(

We have 3 different 2 and a half hour slots per day. It total 7:30 per day.

Power out again for the second time. Feckling ANC brainless idiots as well as the idiot thief Zuma and all his cohorts as well as all their brainless voters should all just perish for Africa's sake.

sigh 3 times today... gotta charge up everything tonight tommorow is going to suck!

Oh yeah slot 3 starts again now. Can't fking wait. 90mins of power one night oh noo whatever will we Bladdy morons the lot of em

Seems to be entirely random. Schedules mean nothing.

Yes, it would be super fabulous if these dumb CNUTS could stick to their own schedule. Appears that would be asking just a bit too much.

It is like a count down to New Years. Watching the clock every minute or so, waiting for 22:00 to take us into darkness.
:(

Should start calling it Power Enabling instead of power outages, seeing as the power is actually more off than on!
