Look for some suggestions for roofing companies in Blouberg/Table View area.

I just need some maintenance done before I go ahead and put solar panels down on the roof. Already have one quote but it seems a bit steep, have contacted another two places to get some comparative quotes.

Basically they'll be replacing roofing nails with screws and redoing some waterproofing. The roofing itself is still in good shape.

My one roof sprung a leak in December just as businesses were closing up so I called in a company that's just down the road from me. They came out quickly and did some work, it didn't fix the problem at all and cost me an arm and a leg. They have a lot of good reviews on Google but nobody mentions how expensive they are, either that or I'm just completely out of touch with how much roof work costs.

Then they were on leave until last week (thankfully we didn't have any heavy rain in the meantime), the actual problem was found now and going to have to end up paying about paying the same amount again. I'm not very happy but probably just have to suck it up (I have asked them to re-evaluate the quote though).

Received a second quote today, gave me a few options - they can basically re-do the entire top roof for about the same price as the previous guy wanted to just patch things. I'm considering getting it done this way as once I put the solar up I want to avoid having to do any maintenance for a while.

Another guy on his way now so I can get a third quote.

What kind of roofing are we talking about here? IBR, klip lok, tiles, etc?

I've also had some horrible exprienes with roofing companies in cape town. especially for simple waterproofing. Its like 80% of them is just winging it, no recourse afterwards. Wasted thousands.

Do you want to name and shame? I have been told that GP Koning are very good if you need any waterproofing done.

They don’t do actual roofing though, just waterproofing.

I've used Supaclad Roofing over the last 5 years for several projects, Andre the owner is second generation in the business, old school type, knows what they are doing.

PS: I also want to install solar btw, I'm confident the new roof they put on for me will do the job for many years to come.

Who are you using, any of the above suggestions?
Oh oops, I thought I mentioned it but that must have been a different thread.

It's these guys:

They looked decent from what I can tell online and gave me the best quote. I will know if I want them to do the rest of my house once they've done this job.

Keep us posted. I have quite a bit of roof maintenance to do, but have put it off because of my bad luck with previous contractors in CPT.

One of the guys is taking photos for me of the job as they go. He's going to send them to me later. So far, I'm happy with their progress - old roof sheets and flashings removed and already taken away, insulation is in and they're busy laying the reflective sheeting and installing the clips for the new sheets.

They said they'd be done with the sheets by today and they'll come in tomorrow to do the flashings.

Godfrey sending me some photos already.

What the roof was before (after the old roofing sheets were removed), no insulation, no reflective sheet:

Insulation in:

Fitting new roofing sheets:

This should help a lot with the temperature control in this room.

Very nice. That insulation will make a world of difference. I wish the c0nts that built my house would have done that.
