Rooting froyo 2.2.2 help please

Hi guys


i am very new to anroid so try to use simple terms. I have the Huawei s7 slim tablet running froyo. I just got it this weekend and want to root is so i can add a proxy for my wifi settings.


I downloaded gingerbeak 1.2 and installed it. I have a mounted sd card, internal and external. I have enabled usb debug mide. I ran the app and clicked root device.


It then says :
rooting...
Running exploit...
This may take a few minutes!
Device will reboot on success!


And thats where is stops. It doesnt freeze as i can use tablet and the apps progress circle is spinning. It never reboots even after 30 min.


Please help me root this device or tell me how to add global proxy settings. I know how to add it to opera mobile only

Normally the Huawei's are easy to crack, have you tried using z4root? Written by a guy called RyanZA

You used to be able to download it off the market but now you have to do it and upload it to your tablet.
